1. BE MINDFUL OF GERMS
Your hands are full of oils and bacteria that are easily transferred when you touch your face, increasing the risk of spot outbreaks. Try to make sure your hands are clean before you apply moisturiser or touch up your make-up.
2. MOISTURISE BEFORE YOU GO
The night before you travel, wash your face with warm water and apply a moisturising face mask, followed by an intense, hypoallergenic moisturiser. This will lock moisture in and help prevent your skin becoming dehydrated during the journey. Pack a travel-sized moisturiser in your handbag and apply whenever you feel your skin drying out.
3. USE A SPRAY MIST
Spritz your face regularly throughout your travels with a moisturising spray mist. Avoid using plain water as this will evaporate quickly and could dry your skin out further. Apply moisturiser afterwards to keep hydration locked in.
4. DRINK WATER
Sip from a bottle of water throughout your journey and eat water-based foods, such as fruit and salads, where possible to help keep you hydrated. Avoid drinking alcohol as well as eating foods that are high in fat, sugar and salt as these can cause further dehydration.
5. USE MOISTURISING MAKE-UP
Try a tinted moisturising lotion instead of foundation, which can clog pores and lead to sensitivity and further dryness. If foundation is a must, apply a moisturising primer underneath a hydrating, creamy formula to keep your skin feeling fresh. Keep lips hydrated with a moisturising lip balm.
Follow these tips to help keep your skin feeling fresh and arrive at your destination feeling confident.
